This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, free anyone, post bond, change a record, or obtain an official record for you. Contact the agency that maintains the record.

Choose the Record Custodian

Connecticut's unified correctional system makes the Connecticut Department of Correction the main state custody source, but police, courts, parole officials, federal agencies, and immigration authorities maintain different records. For discharged-person records, the CT DOC Freedom of Information Office is at 24 Wolcott Hill Road, Wethersfield, CT 06109; phone 860-692-6290 and fax 860-692-7873. DOC also accepts requests through its GovQA portal. The research did not confirm public counter hours, so contact the office before planning any visit.

  • For brief municipal custody or police booking records, select the city or town in the County Directory and contact its records unit.
  • For CT DOC custody or a historical discharge, use the CT DOC offender search and the DOC FOI Office.
  • For parole proceedings, use BOPP's public meeting calendar; for parole supervision, contact CT DOC Parole and Community Services.
  • For probation or a case disposition, use Connecticut Judicial Branch records and the Adult Probation office directory.
  • For a named location, find its operator and verified local page in the Facility Directory.
  • For federal imprisonment use the BOP locator; for current immigration detention use ICE ODLS.
